Bush Trimming
When to cut each kind of bush, and why shearing the outside only makes it worse.

Weekly mowing on commercial mowers, with clean stripes and crisp edges along the walks and driveway.
A good cut starts with how much grass comes off, not how fast the mower moves. Utah State University Extension says the common Utah lawn grasses can be mowed anywhere from 2 to 4 inches, and that you should never take more than a third of the blade at one time. Cut harder than that and the grass spends its energy healing the top instead of growing roots, which is how a green lawn goes thin by July. That is the reason most yards here stay on a weekly schedule through the growing season. In a strong growing stretch, a week is about how long a healthy lawn takes to put that third back on.
The finish is the part you see from the street. Stripes are just light bouncing off grass bent in opposite directions by straight, even passes, so they only look right when the cut underneath is even. Edges are the same story. A yard can be mowed perfectly and still look rough if the grass is creeping over the walk and the driveway, so we treat the line along the concrete as part of the mow. If your lawn looks worse a day or two after a cut, check the tips. A dull blade tears grass instead of cutting it, and torn tips turn a frayed tan.
A few things are worth knowing before the first visit. If your yard has gotten away from you, expect it to come down in steps. Extension guidance is to lower a long lawn gradually over several mowings, because taking it all in one pass stresses the grass and buries it in clippings. Tell us about gates, dogs and sprinkler heads that sit high, since those are what slow a route down or get clipped. Northern Utah lawns can need cutting from about March into November, so it pays to get on the route before spring growth takes off. Text the address and what you need.
“Jose is great and very professional. He came out and gave me a reasonable lawn service quote the same day. Reliable, even with all the rain we've had lately. He does a very nice job. Our grass looks stellar!”

Mowing, trimming, cleanups.
For most Utah lawns, somewhere in the 2 to 4 inch range. Utah State University Extension puts the common lawn grasses there, and taking more than a third of the blade at once stresses the grass. If you have a height you like, tell us.
Yes. A long lawn does best brought down in steps over a few mowings instead of scalped in one pass. Send a photo and we will tell you what it needs.
Unlock the gate, pick up hoses and toys, and let us know about pets or any sprinkler heads that sit high. That is about it.
Most yards go on a weekly schedule through the growing season. Need every other week or a one-time cut? Just ask.
Yes. Mowing, bush trimming, and leaf cleanups for businesses as well as homes.
Sure. An overgrown yard, a spring or fall cleanup, or a one-off cut before company comes over.
That’s the whole idea behind the name. One crew keeps your grass sharp in the summer and your driveway clear in the winter, so you only make one call.
